Fragrance vs. Essential oil

Fragrance vs. Essential oil

What is the difference between a fragrance and an essential oil?

When looking at the ingredient list of a cosmetic product, you may notice the terms Fragrance (Parfum) and Essential Oil. But what exactly is the difference between these two components, and why does KIIMA use both on its product labels?

The term "Fragrance": A commonly misunderstood ingredient

Contrary to popular belief, the word Fragrance (Parfum) in an ingredient list does not necessarily mean the product contains synthetic or harmful fragrances. Instead, it is a generic term used to protect the exact composition of an aromatic blend, which may include:

  1. Natural plant extracts

  2. Essential oils

  3. Naturally derived aromatic compounds

In KIIMA deodorants, Fragrance refers to a carefully crafted blend of natural fragrances and essential oils, designed to replicate sophisticated scents similar to traditional synthetic perfumes.

Essential oils: 100% natural origins

Essential oils are concentrated extracts obtained from plants, flowers, or fruits. They not only provide a pleasant scent but also offer various benefits for the skin, such as:

  1. Antibacterial and antifungal properties

  2. Soothing or energizing effects

  3. Aromatherapeutic benefits

At KIIMA, we incorporate essential oils into our formulas to enhance both the sensory experience and functional benefits of our deodorants.

Why does KIIMA use both "Fragrance" and "Essential Oil" on its labels?

Our mission is to create safe, natural, and effective products. Our formulas combine pure essential oils with fragrance blends made from natural ingredients to deliver an exceptional olfactory experience while ensuring high performance.
